1. How adorable are these shoes?! I adore polka dots. I adore black. I adore pink. If I wore this size these shoes would so be mine! Plus they are only $20 bucks!! Cuteness!

2. Speaking of cute shoes.....these shoes are also(sadly) not my size,but I LOVE leopard print. (I even bought a leopard print comforter and pillow shams today. lol. It looks cheesy and over the top Vegas,but I am loving it!)
Anyway....;-) back to the shoes. They are only 10 bucks!!

3. This soft baby pink bag is to die for gorgeous!

4. I REALLY want to try this ice cream!! It sounds way too good to be true!!

It is all natural,low carb,fat free,gluten free,kosher,lactose intolerant friendly and high protein.

I have heard that the chocolate peanut butter flavor is the best and it is only 128 calories a pint. (Yes 128 for a whole pint!! Wow!) The strawberry banana flavor is only 138 calories a pint.

LOVE white with touches of black!!! It is one of my favorite looks ever. So clean,but not too washed out looking.

I love the look of a tree on the wall in a nursery. I hate that you see them in soooo many nurseries though :-( I still might paint one(or go the decal route) the tree(s) I had in my mind
are two over the crib like in the pic below. I am thinking of maybe having 3d things "hanging" from the branches like birds,butterflies,bird houses etc. Or maybe lots of little frames with pictures of family in it for a "family tree" :-)

I adore the flowers on this tree!! I have a slight addiction to making paper and fabric flowers so decorating a tree would be so fun! :-)

Love the colors in this room. They are the colors we decorating some of the other rooms with though so I am sticking with pastels(which I LOVE) in the nursery.

I was so excited when I saw this room because I want stripes like that with the same kind of cute detailing at the ceiling.

I am a huge fan of the Eiffel Tower (anything French really). Love all the gold,ornate cuteness of this room!

The Mom of this baby's room below bought all the furniture at garage sales,thrift stores etc. and painted it to look so cute. They turned out great!

I am a huge fan of white!! Our house was sooooo dark before we started fixing it up. We have painted almost everything in site white(including painting the floor in the living room white!)
We are gradually adding a little color back,but I just adore how white brightens everything and makes it look so much bigger!!

I have never seen blocks of colors on the wall like this before!

I posted about Jennifer's gorgeous home in the last post,but I also wanted to post some pics of her last home. It appeared on the cover and inside the October 2007 Romantic Country magazine.
(I love that magazine! I adore Fifi(the editor) beyond words! She is so very sweet and talented!) I cut the article out about Jennifer's home and put it in my inspiration book before I even knew about her blog. :-)

I love the sea shells and sand in the jars!

Such pretty pillows! I love the ruffles!

I love the purses hanging in the pics above! I have mirrored hooks just like that! It makes me wish that I hadn't already sold the vintage purses(below) I "blinged up" so that I could display them in my home!! :-)

Our(really) close neighbors just cut down about 12 trees that were between our houses. Now that we no longer have any privacy on that side I am going to hang up white dreamy fabric like in the pic below on our patio.

I meant to post this earlier,but it was my birthday on Wednesday and it has been a pretty busy week. My bday was celebrated over several days with different family and friends so that was nice :-)

Anyway...... I finally took a few pics at the Barn boys show last Saturday. I remembered why I usually don't take pics there...I am usually trying to walk around with my sweet, darling(but active) little boys so that doesn't leave much time for taking pictures. lol.

The weather was GORGEOUS! So pretty!!

After Barn Boys we went to a really darling little vintage show with lots of cheap goodies.
They are just down the road from the Barn boys and they have lots of great vendors at their show. They have their show the same days as Barn boys so I have been to their sale 3 times this summer too.

I didn't take pics of the things for sale at that show ,but I did take a pic of sweet Chelsea Ann and her hubby. Aren't they darling?!

After that we went out to eat and to some stores. So much fun! Chelsea Ann and I gave each other gifts. I adored the things she gave me,but forgot to take a picture.

Barn Boys

In the morning we are heading down to the Barn house boy's final sale of the season.
I made it to 3 of the their sales this year and was in awe and totally inspired at all of them!
It feels like you are stepping right into a magazine when you visit them on their farm in the beautiful northwest countryside. They(and all the other lovely people that sell at their barn shows) are so talented and creative!!
Tomorrow it is their fall harvest show.

Laundry room inspiration

Yes,Laundry is a chore that is unending(I could do laundry from the second I woke up to when I go to bed and I would still probably have a pile to do! lol)
However,having a Laundry room like the ones in these pictures would make laundry much more enjoyable! :-)

I like how the washer and dryer are hidden in this laundry room. Love the glass jars on the counter too.

Oh my goodness!! What a cozy little laundry area! It makes you just want to sit in the chair and read while you listen to the dryer running.

I just adore chalk board paint! It is not very expensive and you can do so much with it!
I love that you can write or draw on it however you want then simply wipe it all off and start over again :-) I can't wait to buy some chalk board paint this weekend and get busy painting!

1. I just adore silhouettes! The Gold screen printed one on this moleskin notebook is darling!

3. I love this kitchen! (via the fabulous,but sadly no more Domino mag)

(Our Kitchen is small like the one in the picture. In the magazine they said not to be afraid of dark colors in small rooms. I guess if you paint all the walls and ceilings the same dark color it "blurs the spacial lines and makes the room look bigger" or something like that. We were going to do that in our kitchen,but the walls were already a dark brown(which I have always hated) so instead we are painting everything in the kitchen glossy white. It is not finished yet,but I LOVE how bright and clean everything looks!!! We are using dark colors in the living room though. We are painting the ceiling black with white stripes. It is looking cute!! (It isn't finished yet. We recently decided to redo the whole house from top to bottom so the whole place is halfway done. lol. Crazy I know. ;-)

4.This rose cut black diamond gold ring would be so cool if I had some extra $$$ hanging around :-)

5. Awesome chalkboard and whiteboard decals from here.
They would be so cool to have for leaving little notes for family,grocery lists etc. Then you can just remove it from the wall if you get bored with it.

6. I love this red typewriter! So cool! I love vintage typewriters!! I have a black one that is still in it's original box that my Grandma gave me when I was a little kid. I totally forgot about it until I found it the other day. It still types! I can't wait to put it on a desk and use it when I finish my new craft room!

7. How cool is Kingpoodle??! Fabulous vintage clothes and everything is under $12 bucks!

I just love Halligan Norris(How cute is her name??!) and Adam Smith's wedding!!
So charming and unique!!
They are such a cool couple and you can just tell they are totally in love.

I love the shirt she wore at their wedding rehearsal.

The wedding was in Brooklet ,Georgia. I have always wanted to visit the south.

I just love the circus/fairground/southern/fun/relaxed feel to the wedding!

I know that Penelope came out in 2006,but I still think the movie is just adorable.
In case you haven't seen the movie here it is described by this place.....

I love the sweet love story,but I also adore the scenery and especially the clothing! Too cute!!
I read somewhere that the costume designers made most of Penelope's clothes. They were inspired by Anthropologie and wanted it to seem like Penelope had made the clothes herself.

I am totally in love with her darling coat! I am not wild about sewing,but I will have to try to make one like it!

I love the trim! The sleeves are fabulous too! So unique.

My favorite thing about the coat is all the amazing mismatched buttons!

Her super long scarf is really cute too! When I wear scarves I tend to go for long ones.
I think they are cozy and seem like when they are bigger they are more of a style statement.
Mind you I can't even fathom wearing a scarf at the moment it is sooo hot here!! lol.

Hubby,kiddos and I have been at the beach for the last week or so.
We had such a wonderful time!! We try to go there as much as possible. Actually we are going again this weekend :-)

1. I love this cool Polaroid transfer image
2. I love how fun and cheery these yellow high waisted shorts are. (Love her geek chic glasses too!)

3. This sea urchin inspired porcelain bowl is unglazed on the outside and a translucent icy blue glaze on the interior

4. I could put my phone,money,makeup etc. in this sweet leather pouch

5. I would put the pouch above and all my other beach goodies in this cool bag.
It is hand crocheted, would fit all my beach stuff and is only 10 bucks! Score!

6. I didn't watch more then a few minutes of the Bachelorette this season. (Or any other season really. I don't watch T.V too much.) Jillian wore a really cute initial wax seal pendant.

Piña Colada Yogurt ParfaitTake a trip to the tropics with our pina colada-inspired parfait. It even makes a great breakfast when you need a sunny start to your day.

Serves: 1
Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients1/3 cup reduced-fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup crushed canned pineapple or canned mandarin oranges
1 tablespoon toasted coconut

Preparation1. Top yogurt with pineapple (or canned mandarin oranges) and coconut.

Recipe-Chocolate and cream cup

Lately I have been trying to cut back on sugar.
My goal is to only eat sugary/junk foods on the weekends. My favorite junk food is chocolate! I saw this recipe and thought it looked so yummy! I like that it is supposed to be easy!! With two little kiddos everything I make tends to be easy. :-)

CHOCOLATE AND CREAM CUP
A super easy and tasty little treat.
Serves 4
1/2 cup, 125g unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup plain flour
1/4 cup, 60g shredded coconut
4 tablespoons good quality cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar
chocolate sauce(you can use store bought)

Preheat oven to 350F.

Beat butter and sugar until pale.

Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well.

Add flour, coconut, cocoa and baking powder.

Mix well.

Pour the batter into a 12 cup buttered muffin tin.

Place in oven and bake for 12-15 minutes.

Cool on a wire rack

Cut the cupcakes into cubes and place them in 4 tea cups.

Whisk cream and sugar into loose whipped cream and pour it in the cups.

Use the chocolate sauce to make a pattern.

Serve.

Enjoy!

Chloe Sevigny's New York apartment

I have always loved Chloe Sevigny's quirky style.
Here are some pictures of her New York apartment that were featured in House and Garden magazine.(Sadly the magazine isn't published in the U.S. anymore although versions Of House and Garden are still going strong in the U.K. and South Africa.)

I love the floral print being everywhere in the room. It takes a granny look and makes it funky. Mind you...I like it for HER not sure I would decorate that way ;-)

It is even on top of her vanity table

I love the treillage wallpaper(Imperial trelliage by Kelly Wearstler) used in her entry hall.

I love the wood floor throughout the apartment. It ties all the different looks together.

I really like the simple,classic black and white look in her bathroom.

I love The Black apple(like a million other people),but my favorite blog of Emily Martin's is her Some girls wander blog. I love her quirky vintage Anthropologie loving style. (Speaking of Anthropologie...I am 99% sure she is standing in front of the Portland,Or. Anthropolgie store in the first 2 picture below. I live near Portland so I go to that Anthro all the time. Emily used to live in Atlanta,but I hear that she now lives in Portland.)

I have been hearing bunches of people RAVE about the toasted marshmallow shake from Stand.
Supposedly it is FABULOUS. I have heard comments like"The best milkshake I have ever had"
"Life changing" "You HAVE to try it!" etc.etc. etc. I guess even people that don't like marshmallows or milkshakes adore this shake. From what I have heard from people (and in research for this post) Stand's toasted marshmallow milkshake is the best,but I found other versions that sound really yummy too.
